Welcome!

I'm Kendra, Mom of 4, Registered Nurse, Craniosacral Therapist and Certified Lactation Consultant.

I struggled with breastfeeding with all four of my children and I know firsthand how frustrated you might feel. I relied on lactation consultants to get me through those first few weeks/months and when I moved to Manitoba, I saw the need for other parents to receive this support when struggling with feeding their littles.

My passion for the work I do started with every one of my children having tongue and/or lip ties and the support of a consultant completely changed the trajectory of my journey and now I am helping others do the same!

With our first child, I had every issue possible; cracked, bleeding nipples, tongue tie, mastitis, thrush, oversupply, and an overactive letdown. I didn't know that breastfeeding wasn't supposed to be this difficult. When I found the right IBCLC to work with, everything got better.

I have been a registered nurse for 12 years working on a postpartum unit for all those years as well as some casual work in the emergency department and at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.  Whether you are looking for a Prenatal consult to talk about what to expect or are looking for how to have the best outcome for your feeding goals I would love to help you. Whether it is breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, your specific needs are so important which is why my packages are custom to you and what you are going through. I look forward to supporting you in your journey.

Kendra

I'm so glad you're here!

I'm Jorien - a mama to one, a registered nurse, and an aspiring IBCLC.

I currently work at BTHC in labour, delivery, & postpartum. I also support families in the perinatal period through education, lactation, and sleep counselling.

My passion for breastfeeding support began during my years in the NICU at HSC. I was heartbroken to see how many families struggled with feeding after already experiencing a difficult start to their parenting journey.

Breastfeeding rates were low, and I quickly noticed how little support was available for these mothers. Wanting to make a difference, I took my first breastfeeding course outside of work, determined to better equip myself to help families who were falling through the cracks.

Now in my work at Boundary, I continue to see the same gaps. There is a huge lack of breastfeeding knowledge and education provided to health care providers, and as a result, families are often left without the tools they need to succeed. Despite its proven benefits, breastfeeding too often remains an afterthought. My goal is to change that by empowering families with evidence-based education and the compassionate support they deserve, so they can experience the most positive postpartum period possible.

I am also passionate about supporting families with infant sleep. After my daughter was born, I experienced postpartum anxiety, much of it tied to her poor sleep. What I didn’t know then—but later learned—is that infant sleep follows biological norms that don’t always align with our cultural expectations. Understanding these norms has been transformative for me as both a parent and a professional. It eased my own anxiety and reshaped the way I now support families through the exhausting, beautiful early months of parenthood.

That’s why we’re here today: to meet families where they are, offering both education and encouragement, so they can feel confident in how they feed, care for, and connect with their babies.

Together, we’re excited to walk alongside you and share our combined expertise to support and nurture you through every stage of your prenatal and postpartum journey.
